About
My name is Erica Flannes, pronounced FLA-niss. I was born and raised in the woods of Mississippi, but I’ve called many places home. From Rhode Island to Rome, New York to New Orleans… I have wandered, gathering experiences and wisdom as I walked, all of which has melded together into who I am today.
I began this life with the focused drive only a four year old can have, dreaming to be an Egyptologist- ballerina. As an adult, I pursued art, with intentions to become an illustrator of sorts. This led me to a life in the arts, as a painter, creator and on the stage as a silent performer: a puppeteer. From there, I went on to become a tattoo artist.
Out of the blue, a spiritual path began insistently tapping on my shoulder... I heeded the call as I puzzled it out, studying animistic and shamanic practices as they appeared before me. I began learning from the Indiginous peoples of the lands I inhabit, North and South America. Now I am guided to walk the path of the ancestors of my blood and bone, learning of and incorporating the practices of the Nordic, Germanic and Celtic traditions as well. I am a reiki master and animal communicator, and I’ve trained to be a Breathwork facilitator. I work both one on one with clients, and in a group setting with my partner Lauren Fox, through our business Alchemy of the Elements. My current area of focus involves studying the effects of trauma on the body, mind, and spirit, specifically on ptsd and c-ptsd from prolonged narcissistic abuse, and cult-environments.
I have combined all of this in my work, and I bring it forward in many forms. I offer ceremonial tattoos, where a symbol is channeled and applied, based on my client’s intention. I work with energy, in healings and clearings of both bodies and spaces. I work with animals and their humans to help bridge communication, ease pain or as support in their time of transition.
I am also an artist and craftsman, creating magical adornments for the body, art for the home, and ceremonial tools to be used in your own work.
All that I offer is focused on collaboration with my client, where my goal is to bring light to their own healing abilities. It is my truest delight to be a part of empowering and witnessing them in their journey towards their own healing and freedom.
